Bohemian Vixen – Peace, Love and Amazing Accessories

I was introduced to Bohemian Vixen through Bloggers Love Hub.  Straight away I knew this was a brand I was going to love.  The name alone resonates with me and my loves in life!

The Sonny Skull bangle immediately caught my eye and most of you know I’m a sucker for skulls, so I was excited to hear from founder and designer Samantha Bell with news that one of these beauties was heading my way.

Based in Belfast, Sam designs and hand makes each piece, her collection is made up of upcycled vintage discoveries and semi precious stones.  She designs for both men and women giving versatility in many pieces.

Her passion for jewellery came from a very young age , playing in her grandmothers jewellery box.  In 2010 she began making her own jewellery and is inspired by life, her kids and Ibiza where she confesses are always in her heart and mind.

When my bangle arrived I was pleasantly surprised. Presentation is everything to me and Bohemian Vixen didn’t disappoint.  My bangle came in a gorgeous linen pouch with the beautiful B.V logo.

Bohemian Vixen – Sonny Bangle

Inside and carefully wrapped was my bangle.  It was better than I’d expected.  The bangle was beautiful, the skulls on point and detailed. It’s solid bangle, sturdy, well made – The skulls were weighty too! Overall verdict absolutely gorgeous.

Collagen Colway’s Pure Gold Mask

Nothing screams luxury than the sound of a pure gold face mask right?
OK if you can get past randomly bursting into song every time you talk about the mask like me! (Sorry, but Spandau Ballet were big in my day so there’s no escaping it!)
I was lucky enough to get my hands on this gorgeous product through Co Founder of Collagen ColwayMaria Luba-Muczko who kindly gifted me the masks to try out.
I’m quite familiar with Collagen Colway products and have used mainly their Collagen Gel, which is a great product, whilst as a baby faced 37 year old the results aren’t obvious to the eye, the product itself is quality and leaves my skin feeling great!
So Maria kindly suggested I go for the Gold Masks.  Well I was very excited to try and rightly so. These beauties are fantastic.
The site states after 1-2 uses,  instant moisturisation is noticable, after 3-4 uses a gradual reduction of fine lines, reduction of pore size and after 5-7 uses a visible reduction of fine lines with long lasting repair.
So what’s in them? The key ingredients are :
  • Colloidal Gold,
  • Naitive Collagen,
  • Elastin
  • Sodium PCA
  • Aloe, Hyaluronic Acid
  • Vitamin B and E
The masks come in gorgeous black and gold packaging.  Individually wrapped and on first sight these little gems certainly had me curious.
Looking at them, you could see that they were going to see they were wet, for some reason, I thought they were going to be oily to touch, collagen – fish oil…I just couldn’t separate the two!
Once I unwrapped my mask, it was  scentless but very wet and slippery(like a fish lol).  It’s an all over mask hence the smiley face below!
Applying the mask was interesting and fun!  It was a slippery sucker and very cold on inital application.  You simply place the mask over your  cleansed face and leave for at least 15 minutes.  It does state some people may feel a warming sensation but I was fine.
I won’t show you what I looked like wearing the mask as well it’s just too scary for anyone to see. Plus trying to do a selfie with the mask on proved quite difficult. Once place on face, I kicked back and relaxed.
So why use a gold mask?  What’s the big fuss?  For many years now we’ve seen the power within the elements of gold and using it as part of your skincare regime.   Cleopatra was a big fan!
Colway explain that the gold slows down breakdown of  collagen and elastin in our skin, so by using the masks, you can help improve firmness and the appearance of fine lines.
After 15 mins have passed, you simply rinse off with water and discard the mask.
I’ve used 1 pack and can say that after the first use my skin was fully hydrated, I have combination oily skin with few fine lines.  I can defineatly feel the difference in my skin and would highly recommend using over the winter months as we know how mean the weather can be to our skin.
The gold masks would also make a great Christmas gift.  We always love receiving pampering treats, this would make a great mini luxe gift for someone special.
Collagen Colway also have a special offer as part of their 14 day Gold Mask challenge order 2 packs (6 masks) for £69 normally £90, so it’s worth taking advantage of this great offer.

Happy New Year!

I know I know, I’ve not been around much over the past few months and for this I apologise.

BUT – I have been working my little tail feather off, styling as many women as I possibly can and I can tell you this year a lot of women looked AWESOME and many opened some very special Stella & Dot gift boxes this Christmas.

My hard work paid off as I  was lucky enough to bag myself over £500 worth of free jewellery and accessories AND a new bag from the new spring collection!  These are just a few of the perks of being a stylist!  The rewards a simply amazing and to think I only started my business a little over a year ago and hear I am running a successful business paying for my sons classes, finally getting the tattoo I wanted (I’ll show you all next year) AND buying all my presents for Christmas stress free!  If you want to know more I’m always happy to talk about my experience as stylist.  It’s your business, your way so works around your home/work life and is a lot of fun!

Oh and a fab new Michael Kors watch from my beloved.  I also received my favourite scent  by Elie Saab so all in all it was clear that I was a very good girl this year!

So what’s coming up next year?  Well I’m not going to leave you all out in the cold, I’m really excited about the new SS14 collection, have you seen the colour trends for the new season?  Check out my pinterest boards, I’ve created some wonderful inspiration boards to help you see what’s hot.  With the new collection launching in a matter of days I’ll be on hand to help you rock your look with the perfect accessories.

HQ were kind enough to launch a capsule collection from the spring line and it would seem the pieces were a hit.  We sold out in a matter of hours!

Luckily everything is now back in stock, so you can order and be the first to rock one of the hottest colours of the new season!

Norah Pendant

Norah Chandeliers

Double Clutch – Citrine perf.

So you can see why I’m so excited about the new year!  If you’d like to be one of the first to see the collection and be wearing it before anyone else I thoroughly recommend host a party – it’s very simple call the girls, get them round for coffee and cake or wine and nibbles and your stylist will bring the jewellery for you all to try on and buy.  It really is a great time!

Book your party today!

On that note I want to just say a big thank you to all my friends, family and followers. Your support has been amazing and has given me the strength to achieve great things this year!

So I say cheers to you -For being fabulous hostesses, for attending a party, for enjoying the Stella & Dot experience so much and for booking ahead into next year! For taking a moment to read my blog or like one of my posts, cheers for your comments and feedback, here’s to you for checking out my website and to those who flicked through one of my look books with friends over coffee I thank you all!

Here’s to you – Happy new year lovelies!

I’ll see you all in 2014

Window shopping new seasonal trends! #1

I never realised summer holidays could be such a challenge as a stay at home/work from home mum(yes it’s my first time with a child of school age lol)

Normally my days start with dropping the boy of to nursery then march straight into town for a coffee and a little diary management, followed by a good scour through the high street stores for fashion ideas and inspiration  – Styling ideas which I can use at my trunk shows and show my hostesses and her friends!

Now we are in full swing with the holidays, my weekly re-con has come with gruelling negotiations by my son! The general deal is he does something fun, then I get to have a little look and come home and write it up!  As you can imaging this hasn’t always gone to plan.

So today’s post is going to be a quick look at one of  the key trends that I have seen in the shops and their AW13 previews. I have to admit, it has been hard not to keep shopping for myself!

It is a personal favourite trend and it’s a favourite colour too! Cobalt blue(or royal blue as some would say!)  Now I know it’s not new to the catwalks and it has featured heavily over the last few years.  But I just love how rich and bold it is.  If you’re not too confident in rocking a bright blue top or skirt, maybe look at accessories or perhaps a sassy pair of heels!

Clothing – New Look AW13 preview Jewellery Stella & Dot

I teamed up the outfit with one of my personal favourite pieces from our new Autumn line at Stella & Dot – The Mercury Necklace, a stunning non chain based necklace.  The 2 metal pieces are sewn together by hand creating this fabulous avant garde piece!  The thread is coloured and also has beautiful rose gold metal nuggets to finish this beautiful statement necklace.

Also featured Linda Earrings, Christina link bracelet and Artemis Cuff All available online at my boutique
Shoes – Zara, Top – Dorothy Perkins, Tech wallet in Blue and Union Square Scarf in Midnight Bloom from Stella & Dot
A few more picks I would recommend from Stella & Dot would most definitely be the Tech Wallet and the Union Square scarf in Midnight Bloom.  Bring out your inner rock goddess, put on your faded black or grey jeans, team up with a plain tee and the ever essential biker jacket, the new Tessa Necklace with these few pieces you’re ready to rock and roll!
So you can see, it’s clear this wonderful bold, colour is here to stay and will definitely be a staple in your wardrobe this AW13!
I don’t know about you, but even though I love the sunshine, you just can’t beat getting wrapped up in all the amazing autumnal trends!
Right, I’m off to kit my son in the upcoming seasonal trend for children all across the UK aged 4-16! Yep his school uniform. We are both very excited as he will be going in full time so it’s a pretty important year for us both as I have been a stay at home mum for 5 years now and it’s just been the 2 of us so I’ll be losing my home buddy but on the positive, he’s ready for this chapter in his life as am I.  It does mean I’ll be able to focus more on my business and take my time scouring through the rails at my favourite shops!!   Oh and what do you know his school colours are……BLUE!!
Until next time lovelies!

Time for a change – here comes Autumn!

Wow, has it been that long since I last posted?  Hope you didn’t miss me too much!  Apologies for my absence in this small corner of the bloggersphere – I’ve been somewhat distracted!

But I’m back and with a bang too!  The end of last month saw the launch of the AW13 collection from Stella & Dot.

This coincided with our annual sales conference which was in 3 words – Amazing, inspiring and a whole lot of FUN!  With the collection available to view and try on, it definitely helped me decide what new pieces I was going to add to my ever growing collection of samples!

So where to begin, the new collection, brought style, versatility and lots of colour for the new season ahead.

My personal favourite and had me very excited was the stunning Frida Necklace

Inspired by the artist and legend Frida Kahlo the Frida necklace is, loud, proud and bursting with colour! With a mixture of soft peach tones against the deep blues and turquoise this necklace makes a statement for sure!
I wore it out the other day just to the local shops (I just wanted an excuse to wear it asap) and I found myself stopped by women asking me about the necklace.  One woman proceeded to follow me through 2 shops just so she could show her sister!  I never mind, it proves that as a statement necklace it’s doing it’s job and looking fabulous at the same time!
Another favourite is the Kahlo collection a luxe set enriched with mixed metals and sparkling crystals giving it that extra WOW factor.
I always felt that when it came to mixed  metals there was a little gap which as a stylist can prove a little tricky especially for certain clients that want just that bit more!  But the design team have finally filled the void and brought this amazing show stopper. I have the bracelet which is a statement piece on its own, but at the viewing I just couldn’t help myself in trying on the necklace!
With new purses, scarves and now cases for the modern woman to carry her ipad in, the collection was the biggest one I’ve seen since becoming a stylist.  It would seem that we generally release 2 major collections each year with 2-3 capsule collections in between.
I could go on about all the different pieces but I’ve highlighted a few – all are available to buy online at my online boutique:
You can see bold colours and mixed metals will most definitely be playing a big part of your Autumn/Winter wardrobe!  I’ve already had my eye on a few key items of clothing and footwear which I know will look amazing with my new jewellery and accessories!
In my next few blogs I’m going to focus on 1 or 2 pieces in particular the amazing Sutton Necklace which is a fantastic piece of jewellery and at such great value for money as it is 5 necklaces in 1 and yep I’ve tried and tested all 5 ways and they look fabulous!
Remember you don’t have to host a party to get your hands on these fantastic accessories, you can shop online from the UK and NI via my online store Why not pop over there now and see the whole AW13 collection.
Leave me a little note and tell me what your favourite piece is!
Until next time lovelies!

Happy Birthday to ME!! (Pt 2)

So we move to the bank holiday Monday (my actual birthday!) It’s official I’m on the wrong side of 30 now EEK!! Or as my friend puts it I’m merely 18 x 2 darling!

I was just so glad to see the sunshine managed to squeeze another day in (I don’t think I could have handled a grey, depressing sky birthday!)

So it began with being greeted by my son at 6am and as usual( because I’m a mum-bot) I just woke and made breakfast, and the usual pottering!  I was then given my present kindly addressed “princess” by my friend Katy and fellow business owner commonly known as Mummy Pig who helped the boys make sure I got the right present!

So it turns out it was a gorgeous new handbag!  Just what I needed for the summer days ahead (yes I know I’m being slightly overly optimistic)

I loved this bag the minute I saw it, which was over ago when Katy & I worked at an event together.  I’ve always been a big fan of skulls but didn’t want the generic tan/black bags which I had seen many women around rocking! Although nice, I wanted something different!   I almost did go with a fuchsia bag, but I’d already bought my neon pink satchel so when I saw this baby, I was in love!

It was perfect in every way and so different to what had been around! So I was a very happy girl on Monday!

If like me you love your bags, pop over to Facebook and check out her amazing store. She has everything covered, from fashion bags to genuine leather high end gems and also fashion accessories too!
I have to say, when my sisters shop for me they nail it every time!  I’ve added 2 new tops to my wardrobe and yes animal print has finally made it in!  My sister is FANimal, she just adores animal print, me on the other hand have always gone with snake print in the very smallest detail and if it’s going to be of the cat variety I can only allow for it to be on my toes when my nails have been Minx’d or I’m wearing a cute pair of pumps!
I think my sisters both feel it was time to embrace this fashion trend that is clearly never going to fade!  Little sis bought me a gorgeous multi neon coloured animal print scarf! Looks like I’m covered on the trend front!
This year I decided I wanted a watch, so between friends and family I’ve managed to save enough money for a watch that I’ve had my eye on since February.  Funnily enough I saw it on a client and knew I just had to have one!
Watch  this space for more details!   I’m very excited about getting it!  Though many have pointed out that I have 4 watches already – is this the start of a watch fetish?  Whatever it is I like it, though I think I need to invest in a multi storage watch box as I just know it won’t be the last…..pretty much like how I am about my my tattoos, but that’s a story for another day!
The evening was spent with my family, a few drinks at the Cherry Tree, then on to dinner at Cafe Rouge in Southgate.
It was a wonderful evening filled with good food and wine and great company, I’m probably paying for it now on the scales but it was worth every bit!  I treated myself to deep fried Camembert for starters, followed by what I can only describe as the best steak I’ve ever eaten!  I went with a juicy Sirloin, no sauces.  Sometimes keeping it simple is the only way!  Dessert was a divine slab of heaven – Chocolate Ganache!
So what did I wear?  I decided to rock the monochrome look (above pic with bag) I actually bought the outfit from New Look.  I’m totally in love with the Aztec print trend which we saw at the beginning of SS13, they have a fantastic of print skirts from about £12.99-£20
How did I accessorise?
I decided to team it up with gold and went with one of my personal favourites from Stella & Dot which was the Avalon crescent and Avalon Station to layer and added a little #armparty by wearing the stunning Tempest bracelet and my all time favourite the Renegade.
I think it all worked, and I felt I looked good, but hey that’s just me!
All the jewellery is available from my online store at or if you are on facebook why not connect with me
Now my big day is over, we move onto kid sis No.1 tomorrow and baby sis on Sunday – let the celebrations continue!

If it’s your birthday this month, I hope you have a fabulous one, I’d love to hear your plans or how you spent it!

Enjoy lovelies!
